Sarah Slocombe is a primary teacher gone Wyld!

Originally from rural Wiltshire, Sarah spent her youth climbing trees, making dens and reading books. She studied for her BEd degree in Sussex, and spent 20 years teaching in both primary and pre-schools. Here, she raised her family close to the beautiful Ashdown Forest. After becoming a qualified level 3 Forest School Leader, Sarah moved to North Devon to run Two Rivers Forest School Kindergarten. Moving to Cornwall and finding a suitable woodland site enabled Sarah to create Wyld Thyngz Forest School Kindergarten.

Steve

Steve Tetlow

With a background in physics, Steve has spent 15 years in academia in both teaching and research, followed by 15 years in industry. He has an interest in applying STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and maths) in a nature-based setting with an eye to the environment. He was heavily involved with scout camp logistics, applies climbing skills to getting up trees, and loves to bivouac in a hammock. He has developed his bushcraft and nature connection through Trackways based on the training of Tom Brown Jr so is more of a Jake Sully rather than a Bear Grylls sort of guy.

Lucy Green

Leader of Really Wyld Thyngz
Forest School Leader L3
BTEC L3 Education and Training
Safeguarding L3
Food Hygiene L2
Outdoor First Aid

Lucy has always loved being immersed in nature and swimming in open water. She is an experienced Forest School Leader and Trainer, Swimming Teacher in Pools and Open Water, Aquatic Safety Qualification Trainer Assessor, SW Summer Moorland and Camping Leader, and Surf Life-Saving Club Coach.

Lucy was a ranger with the National Trust before she began delivering Forest School around the South West in 2004. She loves to be outside, happiest surrounded by trees and water; wood smoke and salt; running, walking, swimming, and snorkelling. Her interests in the natural works, human connectivity, and open water have inspired the direction her work has taken to encompass all these elements for the benefit of people's health and well-being; to nurture connection to each other and to the natural world and to increase accessibility to experiential learning in nature and swimming in open water.
